The relocation happened between June and October

The academy of Mestre Pastinha, the most famous capoeirista of Bahia, is goint to have to change the location with the restauration works of the Pelourinho hillside.

Mestre Pastinha since they started the works to reform the Pelourinho Square - where is located his Academy - lives in an old and damp flat in a boarding house on Alfredo Brito Street, 14, .
26th October, 1971. Jornal do Brasil.
In the process as we know he lost his Academy, instruments and furniture.

«I always had the hope that capoeira would gain its space, or better, it place, of what mestre Pastinha, when living, already spoke about. Before he died he told that he would die, but only in flesh and not in spirit and capoeira would continue. He told that he spoke to João Pequeno that he would die and that he should take care of it, of capoeira.»
