The ABC
1923? - Was born in Coqueiros de Paraguaçu and lived in Nagé (both in the district of Maragogipe).
1948 - It's possible he's one of the players on Pierre Verger's photos in Corta Braço.
1954 - On 24th July he appears on some of the photos of magazine Manchete. Probably also appears on the numerous photos from the same year by Marcel Gautherot. In November participated as a player in the film called "Vadiação" by Alexandre Robatto Filho (see below!). Appears there with a hat and without a shirt.
1958 - Was assassinated, by knife wounds, in Góes Calmon, Bahia, while he was fighting capoeira with five men to defend his life. The fight started due to a pandeiro and a berimbau. He was given a homage by Wilson Rocha (read below!).
1964 - His name is cited in the book called The Shepherds of the Night by Jorge Amado.
2017 - Frede Abreu's book called «Nagé, a man who fought capoeira until his death» was published.
PS His daugther is called Marileide.

He was one of the greats. He was as no other in the art of this capoeira fight of dance. Nagé was one of the brave negroes of Bahia. He was famous on all the lands of the Bay area and on all the squares and streets of Bahia, on all the slopes and all the roads of the old city of All the Saints. For many years he was feared and respected by the best capoeiristas. [..] No champion, no leader had so many admirers. It was for this reason that so many people, thousands of locals flocked to the burial of the great capoeirista. [..] Nagé was a folk hero. [..]
